What Is ADHD Coaching?
ADHD Coaching helps people understand the impacts of ADHD, why things aren’t working and what to do about it.
Some people come to coaching newly diagnosed and unsure where to begin. Others arrive feeling overwhelmed, stuck or exhausted by patterns that are holding them back. Parents may be looking for better ways to support a child or partner. Educators may be seeking practical ways to respond more effectively or to gain a deeper understanding.
Coaching creates space to step back, understand what is getting in the way and identify practical ways forward. A coach works alongside you as your fiercest supporter and accountability partner, but also a trusted expert with deep experience and knowledge of ADHD.
Our Approach
At Ember, our approach is strengths-based, neuro-informed and combines coaching, practical strategy and education.
Education is a key part of the process, along with understanding environments and where change would be most effective.
Alongside individual coaching, we work with parents navigating ADHD in family life and educators, schools and organisations seeking to better support neurodivergence.
Coaching & Therapy: How they Work Together
Therapy often helps people understand why things are happening and supports emotional wellbeing and healing.
Coaching focuses on what to do next and how to move forward.

What to Look for in an ADHD Coach
Not all ADHD coaching is the same. Training, experience and approach can vary significantly.
When choosing a coach or educator, it’s important to look for:
- Formal training from a recognised coaching organisation (such as ADDCA or ICF-accredited programs)
- A clear understanding of ADHD and executive functioning
- An approach that is practical, structured and grounded in real-life application
Coaching is a collaborative process and the right fit matters as much as credentials.
A discovery call is a good way to explore whether the approach and the person feel right for you.
Why People Come to Coaching
People come to coaching for many different reasons, but often there is a sense that things are harder than they need to be and making meaningful change feels impossible.
Overwhelm and burnout
Procrastination
Time blindness
Disorganisation
Invisible load
Self-doubt
Firefighting
Feeling stuck
